gotta give it your HEART & SOLE

we were recently invited to attend a sneaker shop opening in cleveland heights by the name of, you guessed it, Heart & Sole.

this particular store specializes in exclusive and otherwise hard-to-find sneakers as well as apparel. their brand list includes greedy genius, jb classics, mishka nyc, mike 23, eksobition, king stampede, and blessed label, nike sb, jordans, exclusive vans, and a plethora of others.

as many of you already know, we hail from the city of Akron, OH, which is about 30 to 40 minutes outside of Cleveland. surprisingly, we know very little about our neighbor to the north (which i just learned is the 12th largest city in the US).

as we drove up to the shop, we were pleasantly surprised by our surroundings (this shows how little we know about cleveland). it is situated in a very affluent neighborhood within a strip of shops, restaurants, bars, and other stores that are accessed by foot (something not found much in northeast ohio). the potential for foot-traffic is excellent, AND there is an American Apparel across the street - what a combination.

the opening celebration was attended by many of the owners' friends, passers-by, a local rap group by the name of key elements, and yours truly of course. while we checked out the inventory, we were also happy to get a taste of the skills of the djs, one of which was one of the owners (way to multi-task). around the walls of the entire store is the sky-line of what i am thinking is downtown cleveland and the ceiling was adorned with a local artist's handi-work.

the store and it's decor was a great experience because it was a break from the ordinary, but what really gets us excited about the store is that the owners are young. i believe they are under 20 years old. britt.tish.man is all about setting the standard and traveling your own path to success, and they have done just that. they are filling a void niche in the region, all while earning money, breaking into the business world, going to school, and doing it all their own way. this = a recipe for success.

take some time to check out the pictures taken by a guest photographer, Tiana Carter to stop in and check the shop out, graffiti lined ceilings and all, and help support this new boutique. you will be pleasantly surprised, as we were.

oh, and one more thing......i urge everyone to

vince and the other owners did, and you see where it got them. my younger brother always says, "the only thing stopping you is air, and air can't stop you!" as stupid as that sounds, there is a nugget of truth to that.....think about it.
